The Assistant Product Manager will be responsible for management of one of John Frieda’s strategic sub-brands together with the management of the Tier 2 portfolio. Working with the support of the Senior Product Manager (Line Manager), the APM will take the ownership of executing the marketing plans in terms of NPD landing in store and current portfolio support in line with overall UK business objectives. In addition, this role will help support the wider Marketing brand team with necessary project and admin support.

  • Translate brand strategies into brand plans via development of marketing plans for existing portfolio and NPDs from global strategy to local activation.
    Be in charge of managing and developing P&L for entrusted sub-brands.
  • Actively plan on campaigns, incl. booking and executing ATL and BTL campaigns in conjunction with external agencies, shopper marketing, POS/ visual merchandising, in-store launch events, sampling initiatives, promotions.
  • Leveraging the global product and marketing calendars by planning and executing the campaign calendars for the UK to drive penetration and conversion.
  • Consistently monitoring and optimizing results, preparing the post-launch/activities analysis to drive learnings and recommendations for future plans. Be constantly aware of competitors’ launches and marketing activities.
  • Work closely with other departments to deliver the business result (global teams, local sales, digital, shopper marketing, external agencies).
  • Delivery of regular reports and attendance at key meetings that help share the UK landscape and plans, whilst helping drive the UK and global strategy.
  • Adhoc support across the whole Marketing team to ensure all objectives and deadlines are achieved.


  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Previous experience in FMCG, ideally in beauty categories but not essential  - min 18 months
  • Must have been a part of, if not directed, new product launches, and broad marketing plan development
  • Demonstrated strategy experience, ability to see the “big picture”, and experience managing a portfolio is a must
  • Exposure and experience with managing a budget
  • Experience with Nielsen reporting and analyzing current business and competitive trends
  • Knowledge of key UK retail customers is an asset
