The Financial Controller DACH is responsible for the smooth running of the Finance, Controlling and accounting operations in the territories of responsibility in adherence with local regulations, corporate policies and in cooperation of the SSC. This also includes the correct and timing preparation and submission of all local statutory and fiscal requirements for the countries/ledgers of responsibility as well as the ownership of the trial balance and the accuracy of the reported monthly figures.


The position is also directly responsible for the set up and management of a proactive relationship with local statutory/tax consultants and external auditors as well as creating an effective partnership with the local business, including Sales, Customer Service.



  • You will be business Partner for all issues/questions related to back office and supporting functions;
  • You are responsible to maintain proper control environment in the DACH region (Internal controls, price- and contract-approval, terms and conditions, credit control/decision about credit limits, working capital, etc). Establish monitors and enforces policies and procedures. Protects assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls;
  • As Financial Controller you manage the accounting and controlling reporting in accordance with local and JGAAP. Sign off and certify monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements;
  • You make sure that there is compliance with statutory requirements by studying existing and new legislations; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, advising management on needed actions and the SSC on new regulations including but not limited to Tax, VAT, commercial laws, etc.;
  • For the countries/ledgers assigned you have the responsibility for management and statutory closing and all other tax and statutory belongings/deadlines including liaison with internal and external auditors. Manage accounting operations to ensure accurate and timely reporting while improving the efficiency of Finance operations.

In addition you will also be responsible for the:


  • Review and Approval of all accruals in MEC (B/S- and P&L-Impact) for the DACH Region;
  • Local contact and authorized approver for all banks and banking transactions;
  • Project work as required also at EMEA level as assigned by management;
  • Interface for the SSC for all In-Country related tasks and activities;
  • Compliance Representative of the DACH Region.


  • University degree in international business administration or equivalent;
  • Fluent verbal and written English and German skills;
  • Internationally recognized accounting qualification (CPA or equivalent);
  • At least 10 years professional experience in the controlling function in an International business environment;
  • At least 2 years of internal or external audit and/or internal controls;
  • At least 3 years of experience in working in a SSC environment.


Furthermore you have:

  • Experience in budgeting and forecasting, as well as reporting and presentation of financial results;
  • Excellent controlling and analytical skills, and a good understanding of accounting processes and operational dependencies;
  • High level of system and PC skills (very good in MS Office, SAP);
  • Strong personality;
  • Desire to take on responsibility and confidence to discuss topics with different hierarchy levels;
  • Accurate and quality-driven working style;
  • Pro-active attitude of working in a team.
