  • Overview

    The Sales Manager will be responsible for working with the management teams to plan and execute Kao Salon Strategy and initiatives in South Africa. This position will work in conjunction with management to plan and build the direct and indirect salon business unit

    Responsibilities

    • Development of sales/distribution strategy in alignment with the Global strategy
    • Lead of the entire sales team with 2 Regional Sales Managers and 13 Sales Representatives
    • Participation in the Leadership Team of Kao South Africa
    • Planning of sales & marketing targets
    • Development of Sales KPIs and Sales Tracking Tools
    • Planning of cost budgets for the allocated area of responsibility
    • Ensuring achievement of sales budget
    • Full responsibility for negotiations with top customers and respective contract management
    • Representation of the company at key events of associations and guilds and at customer events
    • Provision of efficient journey planning in line with company guidelines (visits per day/intervals between visits). Provision and implementation of regular reporting
    • Talent and people development of subordinate staff
    • Development of a capability program for Sales

    Qualifications

    • Degree in Business Administration / Business Sales
    • Minimum of 8 years in Sales and Marketing, preferably in the Hairdressing or B2B industry
    • Experience in direct sales force management
    • Knowledge of the Beauty/Salon market
    • Excellent sales and negotiation skills
    • Be a role model
    • Hands- on mentality and solution oriented
    • Strong analytical, conceptual and strategic skills with a cross-divisional thinking
    • Solid didactical skills and enjoy to develop people
    • Strong skills in various IT systems (BI, Syspro, new technologies & MS office)
