  • Overview

    The Junior Brand Manager is a core player within the Guhl Global Marketing Team focused on successfully contributing to the growth of the brand. The Individual is responsible for contributing to the definition, development and qualification of the Guhl NPD Innovations Pipeline, for developing Advertising, Communication and Executions together with our external agency partners, and working closely with international cross functional project teams.

    Responsibilities

    • Brand Strategy – The JBM is supporting the team in deploying the Brand Strategy based on a thorough market analysis, a compelling brand vision and strategic choices with a focus on where to play and how to win
    • Brand Equity/Positioning – The JBM is supporting the team in developing the long-term Guhl Brand Equity, building on
      • Market opportunities and trends
      • Competitive environment, existing and new market dynamics
      • Strategic Target and Brand Heritage
    • Product Portfolio and Innovation Pipeline – The JBM is contributing to the development of the Product Innovation Pipeline/NPDs as well as managing the product portfolio based on
      • Consumer insights, market trend analysis, competitive activity and leveraging internal technological expertise to identify NPD opportunities
      • Concept generation and development
      • Concept qualification incl. market research
      • Product development with R&D
      • Concept Execution (incl. claims, censorial elements design, copy and artwork)
    • Consumer Communications and Advertising Development – The JBM is supporting the development and execution of the Communication Mix with focus on Advertising, Digital Marketing and Packaging Design together with our Agency Partners.

    Qualifications

    Ideal candidate

    The ideal candidate is a balanced personality with enthusiasm and drive, highly involved in brand management, has a strong affinity to Beauty Care and a highly professional working style. The successful candidate is creative and taking responsibility and initiative.

    Education and Experience

     

    The ideal candidate holds a university Degree/MBA and has experience up to 2 years in similar, relevant work.

     

    Work experience should include:

    • Marketing Experience in FMCG, ideally in the Beauty Industry
    • International experience

    Business related skills ideally include:

    • Experience in the Beauty Care Category
    • Experience in Consumer Insights and Needs
    • Experience in NPD and Concept Development
    • Experience in Advertising and Packaging Design Development
    • Experience in National and International Marketing
    • Experience in Market Research

     

    Core personal competences ideally include:

    • Strong Beauty and/or Hair Care Category Knowledge: High appreciation and awareness of beauty aesthetics and trends as well as High affinity and personal involvement and enjoyment of Premium Beauty Care, Fashion, Luxury Goods
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Strong creative skills
    • Strong project management and priority setting skills
    • Strong experience in working in Cross Functional Teams
    • Strong presentation skills
    • Strong enthusiasm, energy, flexibility, positive attitude and entrepreneurial spirit
    • Fluent in German and English

    Reporting Relationship

    The Junior Brand Manager is reporting to the Brand Manager, Marketing, Guhl, Global.

     

    The successful candidate interacts with product development, packaging development, supply chain, country marketing teams, outside agencies, upper management.
